Governance

Rescue 7 is committed to transparency in our operations and governance. Our bylaws serve as the primary rulebook for the organization, outlining our structure and procedures. These governing documents ensure we operate with integrity and accountability as we pursue our mission. Below find and download our Draft Bylaws and IRS letter of 501(c)(3) nonprofit and charitable status. For more about our guiding principles, please see our Mission and Vision.

Chairperson: The Executive Director (Chairperson) may act as chief executive officer. She or he, subject to the direction of the Governing Board of Directors, generally supervises and manages the affairs of Rescue 7.

Deputy Chairperson: serves in the absence of the Chairperson and assists carrying out the Chairperson’s duties. She or he may perform other duties from time to time to assist the Board of Directors.

Treasurer: Our Treasurer collects, maintains, and is responsible for all finances, sponsorships, and charitable contributions. She or he keeps an accurate account of Rescue 7 funds, pays all bills, and submits a financial report at the end of each year.

Secretary: The Secretary keeps draft notes and constructs minutes of all BoD meetings. Want to understand more about Board activity? Reach out and we’ll send you our most recent board minutes. Additionally, all quarterly Board meeting minutes will be posted on this page of the Rescue 7 website in January of each year.

Check out the “Team” page on our website to meet our members.

Our first officers were invited to join Rescue 7‘s mission during the founding year of our organization. We work hard to select an active, impactful, and diverse board with exciting ideas and purpose-driven solutions to support a global community. Think you can contribute to the Board of Rescue 7? We’d love to hear from you. We consider (and vote on) potential members at quarterly meetings.

We do a lot. As needed, our Board of Directors may create committees for specialized activities. Have an idea for a committee in line with our mission? Contact us and share your idea! We value every community member.

We’re transparent. Our Treasurer collects, has custody of and is responsible for all funds. She or he keeps an accurate account of Rescue 7 funds, pays all just bills, and submits a financial report at the end of each year.

We’re a team! Rescue 7 contracts a third party CPA in the state of New York for all tax filings. Rescue 7 works with an attorney on all matters including financial agreements between donors and the organization, if requested.

Our fiscal year may begin on the 1st day of January and end on the 31st day of December each year.

We serve many communities. Our service may, at times, require flexibility and change. Amendments to the bylaws may be made (by Board vote and legal guidance) to strengthen our mission and community impact.

These bylaws are reviewed periodically by our Board of Directors to ensure they continue to meet the needs of the organization and the communities we serve. Rescue 7 Firefighters for Patients is committed to moral, ethical, and legal decision making powered to impact the special needs community. If you have any questions regarding our bylaws or governance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
